NCAA DUAL DIPLOMA

To compete in the United States at the level of NCAA championships, athlete students need to take NCAA-approved courses as one of the requirements. NCAA Division I and II schools have as a requirement 16 NCAA-approved core-course credits, earning a corresponding test score that matches the core-course grade-point average (GPA), and submitting a final transcript with proof of graduation to the Eligibility Center.

The GPA is only based on the grades that athlete students earn in NCAA-approved core courses. Division I requires a minimum 2.3 core-course GPA and Division II requires a minimum 2.2 core-course GPA. Student-athletes from Quebec need a GPA conversion to meet the NCAA eligibility center requirements and if they are already in the university, they should contact the NCAA for transfer eligibility requirements.

With the American Academy of Montreal, to earn an NCAA Dual Diploma (24 credits in total with 16 NCAA approved core-courses), athlete students need to take some regular courses and NCAA core-courses with the AAM and get the rest of the credits transferred from Quebec’s NCAA approved core-courses as well as Quebec’s regular courses. Add-on, student-athletes must earn their Quebec High School Diploma.
